In our laser suite, we have an argon laser, a YAG laser, and an SLT laser, allowing us to perform a wide range of laser therapies. Using these sophisticated laser machines, our doctors can treat glaucoma, diabetes, retinal detachments, macular degeneration and even clear up cloudy vision after cataract surgery.
Whatever your surgical and anesthesia needs, you can count on the staff at The Eye Center of Central Georgia's surgical center to make your outpatient surgical experience great.
Our operating rooms are staffed by surgical nurses and technicians who are dedicated to making your eye surgery a smooth and pleasant experience. We have both a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist as well as an anesthesiologist available to administer anesthesia. They will provide all levels of anesthesia, from local numbing to general anesthesia, for adult and pediatric surgical procedures.
Using state-of-the-art surgical equipment, our doctors perform over one thousand operations per year in our surgery center. These operations range from cataract extractions and glaucoma filtering surgery to eye muscle surgery, corneal transplantation and even cosmetic and reconstructive lid surgery.
To offer you the full range of eye care under one roof, Eye Center of Central Georgia features an ambulatory surgery center with a laser suite as well as two fully equipped and fully staffed operating rooms. Our surgery center, established in 1985, was the first Ophthalmic Ambulatory Surgery Center in Middle Georgia and has been certified by the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care, Inc. (AAAHC) since 1985. AAAHC certification means our ambulatory surgical center has passed vigorous standards and inspections to ensure that the quality of care provided is excellent.
